What materials do you use?
All Tainted Romance pieces are made from 925 sterling silver. We choose silver because it ages, reacts, darkens and develops character over time. Like you, it isn’t meant to stay perfect.
Why does my silver look darker over time?
That’s not damage, that’s patina. Sterling silver naturally reacts with air, skin and environment. This darkening is part of the look and part of the story. If you prefer a brighter finish, gentle polishing will restore the shine. If you love the lived-in feel, let it be.
Will my jewellery look exactly like the photos?
Each piece is handmade, so no two are ever identical. Minor variations in texture, finish or weight are normal and intentional. Perfection is boring. Yours is meant to be unique.
How long does engraving take?
Engraving adds processing time. Please allow 2–4 weeks before dispatch. Good things take time. Personal things take a little longer.
Do you make custom jewellery?
Yes. We offer custom-made pieces for those who want something truly one-of-a-kind. You’ll need to submit your design or concept for approval. Production can take several weeks, depending on complexity. Custom pieces are final sale.
Can I return or exchange my order?
- Standard items may be eligible for return in line with our returns policy.
- Engraved and custom pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please choose carefully, especially when making it personal.
Is Tainted Romance jewellery waterproof?
Sterling silver can handle everyday wear, but we don’t recommend prolonged exposure to water, chemicals, perfumes or lotions. Treat your jewellery like something that matters, because it does.
How do I care for my jewellery?
- Store pieces separately to avoid scratches

- Use a silver polishing cloth when needed

Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide. Shipping times and costs vary by location and are shown at checkout. Once dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details.
My piece feels heavier / different than expected. Is that normal?
Yes. Sterling silver has weight. It’s supposed to feel substantial, grounding, real. This isn’t costume jewellery. It’s armour.
What if my piece arrives damaged?
If something arrives damaged or faulty, contact us as soon as possible with photos and your order number. We’ll make it right.
